Last weekend was the last tourstop of the german championchips “Kitesurf-Trophy”. We stayed on the beach the whole weekend, because the wind wasn’t strong enough. That leads to the overall ranking. This year I’m on the 7th place in the list. Super happy about that!

Now I’m back in St. Peter-Ording. Normally it was planned to go to Dornumersiel to a Kite-Landboard and Buggy Event to meet my sponsor Flexifoil. Sadly my car is broken and I can’t go there. Now I have to stay here for the next days, but the wind will come back on wednesday.

Early on monday morning Stefan Permien and I went off to the north of denmark. There was the only wind forecasted for northern europe and we had to get on the water, so we started to this trip. Arrived there at noon, we had a great 5 hours session in super flat water. I was on 11 and 9 and trained on my style. The last hour I always did the same trick, I wanted to keep the kite low as possible and get higher and higher. That’s training and it was fun! The 9m Hadlow Pro is the best kite to train that way, because it’s fast and has a great release. In the evening we went to Klitmoller. It’s a well known wave spot for windsurfers. I took my 9m again, but this time my new wave board. The waves were nice. The height was between chest and head, easy to get some turns. Next day we went to some different spots and shot some pics, especially for my sponsor Triggernaut. Because Stefan was on 14 and my biggest one is 11, I was well underpowered, but it was sunny and warm. Now I’m back to recharge my energy. The last days were good training for the upcoming and last tourstop of this year of the german championchips. At the moment I’m on the 8th overall. Let’s go to get a bit higher in the ranking next weekend.

Finally it’s here, the 2010 Brunotti Kite Wave Wood. I tested it one and a half weeks ago and it is awesome. Of course it’s fun in small german waves, but I will do a trip to one of my favorite danish spots, where you have waves and flat water at the same place and the same wind direction soon. Waves are impressing me since I started kiting, but before I used them only as a kicker. Now it’s time to get used to another part of the sport. That’s why kiteboarding is the best sport for me. I use the twintip with straps most of the time for freestyle and megaloops, then I use a bigger twintip with boots for kickers, sliders and rails and the waveboard for some nice surf-sessions.

Last week I spend most of the time in St. Peter-Ording. I wanted to train some new moves, and of course I got a new one. But it was windier than expected and it was all about looping the kite. Together with some mates we pushed each other and I think I had one of the highest loops with the longest travel I ever had. That was good training for the Stormriders Cup which I’m signed in. It will start when the next big storm hits the baltic sea at a weekend the next time. Really looking forward to it and finally testing my 5.5 Flexifoil Hadlow Pro!

Soon I will change the design of my page a little bit, so don’t worry if it looks a bit damaged while working on it.

I had ten great days at this years worldcup at my homespot. After I managed to win in the trials, I had to go against brazilian rider Reno Romeu in the single elimination which I lost. A few days later the double elimination started. There I had a much stronger competitor and I wasn’t able to beat Tom Hebert. My goal was to get threw this big trials, everything else would have been a bonus to me. So I’m happy about my result and the 25th place in freestyle at the worldcup. Also I met cool people at the event and had fun with my sponsors.

On saturday I took the Kite Wave Board of my Sponsor Brunotti to do a downwinder in the waves. We had bad luck with the wind because it dropped in the middle of the trip and we had to wait for a while to continue. I used the 5’5″ Board and it has been awesome. As I got back to the event I ordered one. You’ll see me on a waveboard in the future when the conditions are suitable for that. Maybe I will do a trip to denmark in fall to get some cleaner waves than at home.

The next three weeks I will be full on with training freestyle every windy day for the next and last tourstop of the german tour. After that I’m waiting for some strong winds for the stormriders cup I’m registered to and I will keep on filming and editing for my next video. Now have a look on some pics of the downwinder which I took with the Pentax cam I borrowed at the event.

Yesterday was the Check-In in St. Peter-Ording for one of the biggest events in kiteboarding. The Tourstop of the PKRA Worldtour is back in Germany. I signed in for Freestyle. Because of around 60 competitors in the men freestyle discipline there was a long time for trials. 34 riders were competing against each other to get one of the last 16 free places for the main event.

In the first round I was 2nd out of 4, but only the 1st one went to the main event. In the second round, the last chance to get to the main event, I was 1st out of 3. Super happy that I reached that at a worldcup. Let’s see what’s gonna happen the next days.

I can’t complain about the last days. On saturday I had my last exam before the long break for summer and today I got the result that I passed all of them. Happy about that I had some good sessions now. Yesterday the wind was too light, so we went to the cable. I like to train new grabs off the kicker. Today the wind picked up so much, that I was totally powered on my 9. Unluckily I was so tired of wakeboarding, that I did less unhooked stuff and instead I did some big airs, kiteloops and much other fun stuff. My girlfriend caught all that nonsense on tape for the next video and of corse that pic above.
